The Kumu Kahua Theatre annual Kālā-Bash Fundraiser and Silent Auction will be held on July 19, 2016 from 5:30pm – 8:30pm at Ferguson’s Pub and the Dillingham Transportation Building Courtyard, at 729 Bishop Street.

“We tried something new last year and it was such a success, we wouldn’t dream of changing a thing” says Managing Director, Donna Blanchard. “Once again, we’re partnering with Ferguson’s Pub – part owner Don Murphy has always been a generous supporter of Kumu Kahua Theatre, and we’re really happy to have another opportunity to share his “other” establishment.  We’re having the event on a weeknight pau hana again. We’re hoping even more people who work downtown will stick around and get to know us. For $35 you get dinner, two drinks, live entertainment and a great silent auction… as well as the opportunity to support our unique work in the community.”
This fundraiser includes live music and entertainment, food, drinks and a silent auction featuring items ranging from home décor and jewelry to round-trip flights to the other islands.

Participating companies include: Hawaiian Airlines, Tiffany and Co., Sky Waikiki, The Kahala Hotel and Resort, and Paul Brown Salons Hawaii.

“I always enjoy attending Kālā-Bash.” says theatre patron Carolyn Eaton.  “The food is fabulous and I love the silent auction.  Having the event at Ferguson’s is taking an old favorite and additing some great new twists.  I’m looking forward to attending again this year!”

This event is an opportunity to celebrate and support the only theatre solely dedicated to producing plays written by our local playwrights and about our local culture. Over the past 45 years, Kumu Kahua Theatre artists have entertained and educated more than 73,000 people and produced more than 230 original plays.
