Come see 2g pilot their “Community Voices” program-a groundbreaking space for new writing-at one of the best high schools in the nation!
This spring, Victor Maog, Artistic Director of 2g, worked with Stuyvesant High School’s “Asian American Literature” taught by Sophie Oberfield. Over the past few weeks, students have been writing their first plays on topics ranging from parents to 18th century China to prom. With a student population that is over 70% Asian American, 2g is excited to be working with these young new voices to tell their stories on the stage.
From a field of over 60 new short plays, we’ve selected twenty-five to be read by professional actors including Sasha Diamond, Ethan Hova, Stephanie Hsu, Les Mau, Jo Mei, Matthew Park, Lipica Shah, Ellen Tamaki, Eugene Young and others.
