Headlong Into The Future: East West Players Host Town Hall

50th-Anniversary-logo-Image East WestAs East West Players currently celebrates its 50th Anniversary, we embark on the next 50 years of producing Asian Pacific artistic work, youth arts education and professional enrichment, we will hold two town hall meetings to facilitate inclusive dialogue in the community about how we serve our artists and how we serve the community to foster dialogue about Asian Pacific experiences through live theater.

During the town halls, EWP will introduce the transition process taking place in light of Producing Artistic Director Tim Dang stepping down from his role at the end of June 2016.

In honor of EWP’s founding by artists, the first town hall on Monday October 12, 2015 will focus on dialogue with artists – actors, directors, playwrights, designers, musicians, singers, dancers etc. The second town hall on Tuesday October 13, 2015, will focus on dialogue with community stakeholders – subscribers, donors, teachers, Little Tokyo businesses and residents, community organizations, arts organizations, funders etc.
Hosted by the Board of East West Players and facilitated by Arts Consulting Group (ACG), the town halls will take place in the David Henry Hwang Theater at the Union Center of the Arts. Your RSVP is strongly encouraged. The Artist town hall will be streamed live so that artists across the nation can participate. This presentation will be available on our website at www.eastwestplayers.org. Follow on Twitter @ewplayers.

Please join us and let your friends and colleagues know so we can engage in the conversation about next steps for East West Players, the longest running professional theater of color in operation today and the largest creator of Asian Pacific artistic work for the stage.
