Playwright Ed Sakamoto Passes Away

Ed SakamotoSad news via East West Players.

“We are sad to convey the passing of playwright Edward Sakamoto, whose many plays about the Asian Hawaiian experience were produced on the stage at East West Players numerous times at both our black box space on Santa Monica Blvd. and our current space. Shows like “Stew Rice,” “Manoa Valley,” “The Taste of Kona Coffee,” and “Life of the Land” were audience favorites as they featured the unique form of pidgin English. We will miss Ed but his voice lives on through his plays.”
