East West Players’ 2016-2017 Actor’s Conservatory will focus on the fundamentals of acting and creating character through action.  Through text analysis and a thorough exploration of action and intention, students will deepen their experience of living truthfully moment by moment, and learn to discover their performance in their ability to affect the other actors on stage.  The class, part one of a three part series held throughout the year, will also introduce exercises to encourage the imagination, foster a sense of play, combat fear, and develop a greater sense of presence.  These skills are the bedrock of the actor’s work in every context, be it theater, film or even commedia dell’arte, and can be strengthened at any level of ability.  All are welcome.  Students who enroll in each of the series of the Actors Conservatory Fundamentals of Acting are eligible to enroll in the Studio Lab Project.
