Alleluia Panis, Kularts Director, Named First Winner of the San Francisco Arts Commission’s Artistic Legacy Grant

 

Alleluia Panis Kularts DirectorIn recognition of her 40-plus years as an arts pioneer, Alleluia Panis will be awarded the first ever Artistic Legacy Grant by the San Francisco Arts Commission during a ceremony at Herbst Theater, tonight at 7pm. Bindlestiff Studio wishes heartfelt cheers and congratulations to Alleluia for being a trailblazer and a stalwart in the Bay Area arts community.

 

Alleluia first emigrated from the Philippines to San Francisco with her family in the mid-1960s. In 1985, she co-founded Kulintang Arts (KulArts), for which she currently serves as Artistic and Executive Director. Though she plans to retire from KulArts by 2019, she will continue to choreograph and produce shows for the Alleluia Panis Dance Theater.
