For its 27thyear theater season, CIRCA Pintig, the Chicago-based community theater company stages “Game of Trolls: Revisited”, a musical play based on Liza Magtoto’s Game of Trolls, produced by the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA). Ittells the story of Hector,a millennial working for a ‘call center’ determined to distort history in the chaotic world of digital media. His attempt to reconnect with his estranged mother, a former Martial Law activist, forces him to re-evaluate his beliefs and his work as a social media troll. The play asks “What have we learned from our past? How do we reclaim important historical lessons now distorted by social media trolls and paid hacks?Directed by Louie Pascasio, the play features original music by Demetrio Maguigad with some adapted scenes by Lani T. Montreal. It goes on stage on Nov 30-Dec 1 and 2 and 7,8, 9 at the Klausner Auditorium, 1129 N. Oakley, Chicago. Fridays @8pm, Saturdays @3pm and 8pm and Sundays @3pm

Circa Pintig welcomes a new breed of Filipino and Asian American actors giving life to an important dialogue on interpreting history in the age of social media. As the play reminds us, ‘Anyone who doesn’t learn from the pastis condemned to repeat it.’

The production is pleased to have the generous suppport of Presence St. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, Asian Giving Circle, The Chicago Community Foundation, Resist and The Hana Center.
