Late Night Dim Sum
Sharpening the satirical and parodistic knives, Two Mile Hollow takes a manic, near slap stick look at the theatrical staple of mainstream theatres: affluent but unhappy white families hashing out their dysfunction in mansions, beach houses or lake homes WHERE SECRETS ARE REVEALED—using actors of color in all the parts. A spiritual descendant of the anti-yellowface efforts against The Mikado, Two Mile Hollow digs deep into a soap opera style, in which the Donnelly family reunites to distribute belongings after recently selling their estate.
“It’s deliciously biting, wildly over-the-top and unrelentingly hilarious. Yet Two Mile Hollow also provides some nutritious food for thought about how people of color are portrayed in our art and media, and whose perspective we’re conditioned to accept as important.” www.twincities.com
