Four Seasons: Queer API Lives in Focus

Gay Asian Pacific Alliance, in association with Asian American Theater Company, Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center, and Queer Cultural Center is proud to present FOUR SEASONS on June 2-3, 8:00 p.m., at SOMARTS Cultural Center, 934 Brannan, San Francisco.

FOUR SEASONS is highlighted by an exciting collaboration between GAPA Theater and the UC Berkeley based Theater RICE. Written/Directed by Duy Nguyen and brought to life by an ensemble cast made up of members from GAPA Theater and Theater RICE, the production began with stream-of-consciousness interviews conducted with the ultimate goal of translating a person's history into a dramatized story for the stage.

More significantly, in mixing a multi-generational cast of both queer and straight Asians and Pacific Islanders, GAPA Theater and Theater RICE have achieved the enviable feat of bridging differences through threads of common experience.

Rounding out the production, members of GAPA Men's Chorus will perform pieces especially chosen for the program and The GAPA Dance Company will perform original choreography by Jazmine Bergeron and Alma Soongi Beck.

FOUR SEASONS marks the culmination of a year-long development process for GAPA Community Arts Project (GCAP)and is being presented in June as the centerpiece of a gay Asian Pacific arts showcase.
