1999 Winter Classes for AATC, SF

AUDITION CLASS
Sean San Jose, instructor
Sean, of Pilipino and Puerto Rican descent, conceived the theater project "Pieces of the Quilt." His work in new plays and with new writers led to the co-creation of the theater group Campo Santo. He has performed in regional theaters across the county and is the recipient of the Bay Area Critics Circle Award and the DramaLogue Award, among others. Learn from a professional actor the secrets of carrying out a successful audition and techniques to craft your monlogue. Bring a three-minute monologue. This class can be used in preparation for AATC's Open Auditions on Saturday, February 13th .

IMPROVISATION
Jim Cranna, instructor
Mr. Cranna, formerly with National Theatre of the Deranged, offers this class especially for AATC. He has worked with actors such as Robin Williams, Kelvin Han Yee and Byron Yee. Learn the basics of improvisation, scene partner techniques, and relationships with other characters.

BEGINNING ACTING AND VOICE
Mitzie Abe, instructor
Realize the potential of the actor's most important tool: the voice. Learn breathing techniques, how to use the voice theatrically and working with your script.

PLAYWRIGHTING
Noel Madlansacay, instructor
Learn how to shape working drafts in a creative and nurturing atmosphere. Reexamine tools and crafts. Instructor encourages class interaction and provides individual guidance.
