OVERVIEW of The Ariel Group

The Ariel Group is an international training and consulting firm that uses techniques developed and honed in the performing arts to help business leaders develop leadership presence.
Whether to build credibility, motivate teams, sell ideas, or generate enthusiasm to get things done, leadership presence gives you the ability to connect authentically with others.
Theatre Based Experiential Learning
Our unique, theater-based programs are led by facilitators with a unique combination of experience in theater, business and education.
Since 1992, The Ariel Group has provided transformational learning experiences to 40,000 people in over a dozen countries. We have coached the executives and CEOs of the world's largest companies as well as teachers, inner city non-profits, and even prison inmates.
Our leadership presence and communication skills training workshops have been integrated into leadership development programs at major corporations around the world. We also deliver our workshops as part of the executive education curriculum at leading graduate schools of business.

Ariel Outreach

The mission of Ariel Outreach is to build leadership capacity for social justice by delivering The Ariel Group's theater-based programs throughout the world.

Ariel Outreach seeks to bring Ariel's core programs in leadership presence to those who would not otherwise have access to it including:

  1. Non-profit leaders and organizations, especially those doing work in education and peace-building
  2. Disempowered individuals at crucible moments in their lives.

The Ariel Group supports this developing non-profit practice with 10% of its profits.

Our Affiliates

We currently have 47 independent contractor facilitators/affiliates who freelance with us on an average of 20 – 40 teaching days per year.  We have a tiered system of compensation which is currently from US $800 - $1,200 per day based on the number of days a facilitator has worked with us.  We pay a travel fee for Asian based affiliates when traveling to teach in Europe and to US.

Training and Certification

Our training and certification process is quite comprehensive, rigorous and inspiring:

  • Review resumes for criteria
  • Phone interview
  • In-person audition
  • Group call back with all other potential facilitators
  • One week training program in our core program, Leading with Presence
  • Certification workshop at a non-profit client, taught solo or co-facilitated with another affiliate in training, being observed by a senior Ariel Group facilitator with feedback and coaching
  • A co-facilitation with a senior Ariel Group facilitator at a corporate client
  • A solo facilitation at a corporate client
  • Full certification assuming excellence at all stages

This process helps support our goal of excellence in the classroom.

We offer an honorarium for the training week (US $800) plus $100 (US) per day for the certification pilot.  We provide on-going developmental opportunities in the form of our mentoring program, training in core and new programs and “best practices” sessions with other facilitators.

Community is a major value in the company and everyone is very helpful is supporting and developing others.  We also hold 2 company-wide retreats each year where we come together to catch-up, share the state of the company and artistically regenerate.
