FOB FAQs
"Do I need to have experience?"
Nope. All we require is an interest to "tell stories and perform
ourselves." We're a troupe that was brought together by a desire to
share, express, and create art around immigrant experiences.
"Do we have to be immigrants to join?"
Nope. After all, aren't we all "FOBs" in one respect or another?
"What do I need to prepare?"
Nothing. Just bring yourself and be ready to play! The audition will
take the form of a workshop where you will be participating in theater
games, brainstorming, and creative exercises with troupe members. The
works that come out of this workshop may be used in the actual show!!!
"Are drop-ins welcome?"
Yes. Please feel free to invite folks who were not reached via this email list. However, if space becomes an issue, priority will be given to those who sign up in advance. It would be everyone's benefit to email and reserve a slot.
"What if I'm interested, but can't make it?"
Priority will be given to those that attend this audition workshop. However, if you absolutely cannot make it, please email us at producers@fobshow.com and let us know of your continued interest. One of the producers will get back to you about possible participation.
The FOB Show is a multi-performance genre production that captures the immigrant experience from a uniquely Filipino perspective.
Through shadow puppetry, written plays, sketch comedy, improv, film, animation, live instrumental, and movement and dance, this production is the opportunity for the Filipino immigrant community to express, explore, and showcase their existence and interaction with the world at large.
This show is meant for everybody and anybody. For anyone who wants to laugh, cry, or relate with us. For anyone who's willing to listen, learn, and see . through our transient eyes.
