IN ASSOCIATION WITH SAG, AFTRA AND EAST WEST PLAYERS

Pictures and Resumes Should Be Sent to AFTRA in Los Angeles by April 18

The CBS/EWP APA Showcase is NOT exclusive to the EWPA.C.T.S. program: We are encouraging all APA actors to submit. Please forward this to anyone whom you think might be interested.

CBS is sponsoring its second Asian Pacific American Actors Showcase on Wednesday, June 4, in association with SAG, AFTRA and East West Players. Ken Narasaki, Artistic Associate for East West Players and a member of its A.C.T.S (Alliance of Creative Talent Services) program, will direct the event.

Pictures and resumes should be sent to AFTRA, 5757 Wilshire Blvd., 9th floor, Los Angeles, Calif. 90036 -- attn: Meta Williams or Asian Pacific American Actors Showcase. The deadline is April 18th.

CBS Entertainment development executives, plus casting directors from the Network's primetime and daytime programs, will be on hand at the Showcase-- and an invitation has also been extended to casting directors from production companies that work with CBS.

CBS held its first Asian Pacific American talent showcase in January 2002, following a December 2001 CBS/EWP Writer's Symposium that brought together more than 125 writers for an informal evening of dialogue with CBS Entertainment executives.

East West Players, the first and foremost Asian Pacific American theater in the country, has for almost four decades created theater that gives voice to the Asian Pacific Islander community -- producing a variety of different plays including traditional classics, Broadway productions and works specific to the Asian American experience. It is credited as a model for the numerous other groups in the United States and Canada.

Other CBS showcases have included a Latino American Talent Showcase in partnership with NOSOTROS; a Native American Talent Showcase in association with American Indians in Film and an African American Showcase in collaboration with The Robey Theatre Company. More events are planned with these and other groups.
