Asian American Plays Sought.

Cedar Grove Productions, the film and television company responsible for the Academy Award® winning short film, VISAS AND VIRTUE, and the EMMY® nominated PBS drama, DAY OF INDEPENDENCE, has created a new company division for live theatre: Cedar Grove Productions On Stage.

Cedar Grove Productions On Stage an artistic collaborator in the multi-cultural collective at the new Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC), will be developing, producing and presenting new Asian American theatre works. Productions will be scheduled to open beginning in the 2007-'08 season, in the newly-renovated LATC venues in Downtown Los Angeles.

Cedar Grove Productions On Stage is seeking original (not previously produced) comedy, drama and musical works for theatre, with Asian American/Asian/South Asian/Pacific Islander/Hapa authors, characters, stories, cultural identity or themes. Submissions will be considered for LATC mainstage productions, to be produced under Equity contracts. Projects may also be considered for workshop productions, works-in-progress presentations and readings. Full-length original plays are being sought, however one-acts, as well as adaptations or translations will also be considered. All works must be in English.
