Columbia College Chicago's Center for Asian Arts and Media is the first Asian arts center established by a college or university in the United States. Founded by Nancy Tom, a Columbia College Chicago trustee, the Center plans to bring a steady stream of works by and about Asians and Asian Americans to the forefront of Chicago cultural life and provide a consistent venue and context for this work.

All proceeds from this event will support the Center for Asian Arts and Media.

Center Founder Nancy Tom is active in human rights and the arts. An early passion for painting (she studied fine arts at the University of Illinois/Urbana and at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago) developed into collecting, particularly "outsider" art. She is an independent curator and has handled special arts events for the City of Chicago and various Asian American organizations.
