A Dream Called Laundry released

A Dream Called Laundry is a recently published- but still unproduced- two act play. (A production is being planned here in Toronto, Canada for August 2007.)

The play is about an immigrant Korean laundromat owner who, on the eve of her daughter's planned elopement to Japan with her boyfriend, falls into suicidal despair. Slowly, through flashbacks, her past as a 'comfort woman' on the island of Okinawa during the final days of the Pacific War, is revealed. There she was once in love with a Japanese soldier who, known only to her, is the father of her daughter's boyfriend.

If there is anybody in the U.S. who might be interested in getting a copy of the book or might be looking to do a possible production related to the subject matter (ie. immigration/laundromat/"comfort women"), is asked to contact the author, Sang Kim, at:
