Emerging Artists Theatre calls for submissions

Emerging Artists Theatre Company (EAT) announces a call for submissions for their Spring Eatfest. EAT celebrates its 15th Anniversary of providing a dynamic home for artists to develop their work from an idea to fully realized production and where the playwright remains the key component in that process. For more information on EAT, see our listing at InsightforPlaywrights.com. For any questions, feel free to email us at EatTheatre (AT) gmail.com - do not use our website email as it is undergoing alterations.

Please mail submissions to:
Emerging Artists Theatre Company
311 W, 43rd St, #307
NY, NY 10036-6030

Deadline is postmarked by Aug 15th.

Looking for original one acts that have not been produced in NYC. Plays produced outside of NYC are fine to submit. Plays may be from 10 to 50 minutes in length. Only hard copies accepted no email version of plays as our website is being redesigned and cannot accept them. EAT will accept up to 3 submissions per playwright for consideration but no monologues. Please do not waste money on sending work by Fed-Ex or Overnight. Just have it postmarked by Aug 15th. Also do not waste money on fancy binders, etc - just a paper clip. Please make sure that your email and contact info is on title page.

Emerging Artists does not charge a fee for submitting your plays and believes that it is ludicrous that playwrights be charged. Playwrights birth the product that employs everyone else involved in a production. If playwrights are charged, then shouldn't actors be charged to audition?? Hey Louisville and others - Wake up and stop charging - write grants like the rest of us to cover the reading costs.

All playwrights will be contacted by the end of August on status of your submission. Emerging Artists sincerely thanks each and every playwright for the work they submit.
