UPCOMING CLASSES

TEEN ACTING CLASS
When: Saturdays, February 5 - April 9, 2011 (10 wks.)

Begin your acting theatre adventure by studying with a working professional who has devoted his life to teaching acting in a nurturing and safe environment. Led by Jose Urbina*, this 10 week course for ages 10-16 will focus on fundamental acting skills for teens and will include exercises needed to develop the actor's craft. Exploration will be through improvisation and theatre games which will improve and promote communication and imagination skills as well as team building and self-esteem.

Fee: $200**
Location: St. Francis Xavier Chapel (Maryknoll)

*Jose Urbina is a drama teacher and director with more than fourteen years experience teaching and coaching students in the Los Angeles Unified School District, Bell Gardens (GATE) and Montebello Unified School District (GATE). A creative, proactive professional with demonstrated expertise in teaching acting, script writing, set design, directing, and also extensive experience coaching working actors to develop their cold reading skills, Jose Urbina is an invaluable member of the artistic community in preparing young students for a future in the performing arts.

Studio Lab Project
When: Wednesdays, March 2 - May 18, 2011
(12 wks.)

This class is open to students who have completed at least one year of study with the EWP Actors Conservatory or Studio Lab Project alumni. Instructor/director Leslie Ishii.

Fee: $650 (ACTS $625)
