East West Players offers spring session Actors Conservatory classes
East West Players, the nation's premier Asian Pacific American theatre, offers three classes this spring through its year-round Actors Conservatory which provides professional training in stage and film techniques to develop the skills of artists. Classes are available for people pursuing professional careers, as well as those simply wanting to explore their creative talents and seeking personal expression. East West Players is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment in order to allow each individual's creativity to flourish. FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTING I
This 8-week beginning class is geared toward providing a firm foundation for those with little or no acting experience. Start an actor's toolbox by learning basic technique through improvisation, sensory, and character exercises. Monologue work will also be done. Instructor Leslie Ishii received her MFA from San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater and currently teaches at UC Irvine.

BEGINNING ON-CAMERA WORK
This 6-week class teaches you on camera technique for beginning or mid-career students. Instructor Elizabeth Sung received her MFA from the American Film Institute in Directing. She was selected as one of three recipients out of 700 applicants for the prestigious ABC/DGA TV directing fellowship program in 2002-2003. She is an alumnae of the AFI's Directing Workshop for Women and has completed several award-winning short films.

SCENE STUDY
This 10-week class focuses on character and script analysis. Intermediate and advanced students only; audition required. Instructor Heidi Helen Davis currently teaches at the Los Angeles Film School, Howard Fine Studio and East West Players. She recently directed East West Players‚ critically-acclaimed production of PROOF and is the resident director at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum.
