East West Players is seeking a Literary Manager for the largest Asian American theatre in the country!

POSITION SUMMARY
The Literary Manager's primary responsibility is to to oversee the Literary programs of the organization (David Henry Hwang Writers Institute, Writers Gallery, Playwriting Competition, Literary Submissions/Reading Committee), provide dramaturgical assistance to the productions and to recommend to the Producing Artistic Director any potential workshops and productions for programming.

East West Players seeks a committed, proactive, and personable individual who shares in East West Players' aesthetic, which is enlightening, educational, innovative, and community-specific. Interpersonal skills as well as artistic production knowledge must be exceptional. He/She must independently initiate and pursue objectives in an organized and efficient manner, prioritize activities, and maximizes team interaction to complete high quality and timely work.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5-years experience working in literary theatre, arts administration and a knowledge of the Los Angeles theatre community at professional and educational levels. College degree in theatre helpful though not required. Excellent communication and computer skills are required. Knowledge of the Asian American community and culture is strongly suggested. Applicants must be capable of working in a collaborative team environment and working independently. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is an independent contractor position without benefits.
