East West offers Fall Conservatory for Actors
East West's Actors Conservatory offers a comprehensive theatre arts curriculum for those who are honing their craft as professional actors as well as those seeking personal expression.
Students have ranged in age from 17-65, are of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, and have skill levels from beginning to advanced. What brings everyone together is the dedication to learning and sharing a unique theatrical experience. Minimum age is 17 with parent or guardian consent.
FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTING II
With Marilyn Tokuda
This beginning 8 week class is a continuation of Fundamentals I. Improvisation, sensory, and character exercises as well as beginning monologue work continue to be explored. *Students are encouraged to enroll in Fundamentals I, II & III. Those who complete the series will qualify to enroll in the Studio Project workshop which will culminate in a performance at the end of the acting series. Based on prior acting experience, those wishing to enroll who did not take Fundamentals I may contact the instructor to determine class participation.

BEGINNING SCENE STUDY
With Leslie Ishii
Study and enjoy bringing to life the poetry of the classics such as Shakespeare and the Greeks. This course not only furthers your acting techniques, but also your voice, speech and script analysis abilities. Enrolling in this course gives you eligibility to enroll in the entire 2006-2007 series which will culminate in a Chekhov Studio Project. Commitment to all sessions is required for participation in the Studio Project.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED SCENE STUDY

Actors in this ten-week course will continue to engage in all aspects of their craft, from analyzing script and character to constructing the movement (both physical and emotional) of the piece. Participants will learn to apply the director’s story-telling techniques to their own work and sharpen their sense of how to build a performance. Enrollment by audition only.
