Six nominations for East West's Pacific OverturesWhile the big theatres in LA nabbed a fistful of nominations for their shows, East West Players managed a more than respectable tally of its own in the peer-nominated Ovation Award nominees in late September. The nominations, unveiled at a cocktail reception at the Hotel Inter-Continental in downtown Los Angeles, are the fifth annual for these peer-judged, competitive awards. Three other productions received six nominations: "The Old Settler" and "Blame It On the Movies," at the Pasadena Playhouse; and Actors Alley's "Room Service."
