East West offers Winter 2007 Actors Conservatory

THE ACTING TOOLBOX: Making Solid Choices for the Audition
Must have previous acting experience. Now that you've got the tools, how do you flex your acting muscles to stay in shape so you'll be ready for your next audition? The Acting Toolbox- Making Solid Choices for the Audition class challenges and forces you to take control of the script by learning how to make clear, solid choices for audition material. Learn how to utilize your acting skills to their fullest potential, how to think quickly on your feet, and how to show your talent off to the best of its ability. Students will be given new material on a weekly basis and will have the opportunity to work every class.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTING I
This beginning 8 week class is geared towards providing a firm foundation for those with little or no acting experience. Improvisation, sensory, and character exercises as well as beginning monologue work. Learn to explore and take risks in a nurturing environment.

When: Mondays, January 22 to March 19, 7 pm to 10 pm *no class February 19, Presidents Day.
Fee: $350 (ACTS members $325)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles

FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTING III
This beginning 8 week class is a continuation of Fundamentals II. Improvisation, sensory, and character exercises as well as beginning scene work with continue to be explored. *Students are encouraged to enroll in Fundamentals I, II & III. Those who complete the series will qualify to enroll in the Studio Project workshop which will culminate in a performance at the end of the acting series. Based on prior acting experience, those wishing to enroll who did not take Fundamentals I or II may contact Arts Education Director Marilyn Tokuda to discuss class participation.

When: Wednesdays, January 10 to February 28, 7pm - 10pm.

BEGINNING SCENE STUDY II
Study and enjoy bringing to life the poetry of the classics such as Shakespeare and the Greeks. This course not only furthers your acting techniques, but also your voice, speech and script analysis abilities. Enrolling in this course gives you eligibility to enroll in the entire 2006-2007 series which will culminate in a Classical Studio Project. Strong class commitment. Those who have not enrolled in Scene Study I may contact Arts Education Director Marilyn Tokuda to discuss class participation.
