Casting for revised Flower Drum Song

Informed sources tell the Revue that the revised version of Flower Drum Song, with a revised book by noted author David Henry Hwang, will open with a workshop production (not open to the public), Monday, May 17.

The following actors have been cast in principal parts:
Deedee Lynn Magno (Miss Saigon) as Mei-Li,
Timothy Ford Murphy (King and I) as Ta
Emily Hsu as Linda Low
Luoyong Wang (Miss Saigon) as Wang and
Kati Kuroda (Picture Bride) as Liang.

No word yet on an official production date, although some sources speculate on a late April 2000 date (after Hwang's revision of Aida opens in Chicago in November of 1999).
