Flipzoids in Manila, Seattle, Hawaii

FLIPZOIDS played to sold-out audiences in Manila, as part of the Centennial Arts Festival. Critics hailed it as the "Theatre Event of the Year." Doreen Fernandez, the country's top theatre critic said, "Of all the explorations into the Filipino's experience in America that I have witnessed -- in stories, novels, poems, plays, lectures, analyses -- I found this the most effective so far, luminous and eloquent, deeply moving. A play that made me forget my usual equipment (theatre history, critical norms, etc), and respond fully, a catch in my throat, to all the heart tugs, as did the rest of the audience."

Flipzoids will open at the NWAAT in Seattle in October, and at the Kumu Kahua Theatre in Honolulu in March 1999.
