Auditions Set For Kumu Kahua’s Production Of The Statehood Project

Director Harry Wong is seeking an ensemble of ten actors to perform, five males and five females. All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to come. In conjunction with Fat Ulu Productions, an organization dedicated to creating and strengthening communities through the literary arts, Kumu Kahua presents a collection of monologues, scenes, song, reportage and stories written by Hawai‘i playwrights, poets and storytellers, with the intention of presenting multiple perspectives on statehood in Hawai‘i. Auditions will be held at Kumu Kahua Theatre 46 Merchant Street on Saturday, June 13, 1pm to 5pm, and Sunday, June 14, 6pm to 10pm. The entrance into the theatre faces a park on Merchant Street. Rehearsals begin as early as Monday, June 22. Performances will be from August 21 through September 13, with the possibility of a week’s extension. Auditioners should come early and stay for the whole time. Scripts are available for loan with a $10 cash deposit at Kumu Kahua Theatre. Call 536-4222 for more information.
