Every performance of Lee Cataluna's Flowers of HawaiŒi, sold out last winter. The show toured to Maui in January, where it also played to sold out crowds. Kumu Kahua Theatre will be re-mounting this popular show for two weekends in July and August.

Flowers of HawaiŒi is Cataluna¹s eighth play to be performed at Kumu Kahua Theatre. The show¹s ten vignettes depict interwoven relationships between family members, friends and lovers.

"Everyone loved this show so much, it seemed obvious that we should bring it back as soon as we had an opening in our schedule" says Managing Director, Donna Blanchard. "Our annual fundraiser is on July 19th, and we¹re going to hustle to re-mount the show the following two weekends."

The new dates for the added performances are Thursdays: July 24 and 31, Fridays: July 25 and August 1, Saturdays July 26 and August 2, and Sundays July 27 and August 3. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00 PM and Sunday matinees are at 2:00 PM. For this production, ticket prices will increase after June 30th: Before June 29th, prices range from $5-$20 Beginning June 30th, prices increase across the board by $10 each

Until June 29th, there is also a package available that includes one ticket to both the currently running, critically acclaimed Koi, Like the Fish and Flowers of HawaiŒi. Prices for that package range from $15-$30.

Lee Cataluna is an award-winning playwright and author of the books Folks You Meet in Longs and Three Years on Doreen's Sofa. Eleven of her plays have been performed in theatres around the state. She worked as an anchor and reporter in local television and wrote a metro column for the Honolulu Advertiser for 12 years. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from UC Riverside and has been a member of the 'Iolani School English Department since 2012.

The show is directed by Kumu Kahua Theatre Artistic Director, Harry Wong and features fifteen cast members, including Charlotte Dias, Danielle Zalopany, Jaime Bradner, Jason Quine, Julia LoPresti, Karen Hironaga, Kati Kuroda, Lisa Katagiri-Bright, Nick Nakama, Reb Allen, Tiffany Brown, Tyler Tanabe, Shawn Thompson, and Wil Ha¹o.
