Now You Can Buy Tickets To Kumu Kahua Theatreís Shows Online!

Kumu Kahua is pleased to announce that, just in time for the opening of their 37th season, you can now buy tickets to Kumu Kahua’s shows online. Beginning with their first show, Bryan Hiroshi Wake’s irreverent comedy Ala Wai and continuing through their entire season, at Kumu Kahua Theatre, 46 Merchant Street in downtown Honolulu.

Those interested in purchasing tickets online can visit: www.honoluluboxoffice.com and buy tickets with a few clicks of the mouse. New Kumu Kahua Managing Director, Scott Rogers first used Honolulu Box Office for his production of The Lieutenant of Inishmore with The Actors Ohana at The Academy of Film & Television.  “We sold out every single performance! We never had to deal with tickets or reservations and the staff was really driven to serve our needs. Andrew (Honolulu Box Office’s owner, Andrew Meader) has really done an excellent job and filled a tremendous need here in Honolulu. Because they charge a small service fee, we did a test run this summer with a two week remount of our production of Kamau. I didn’t know if our customers would think it was worth paying an added fee just to buy tickets online...but they did! The added convenience is obviously worth it to many people. Everyone else can still buy tickets by calling the box office or coming by in person.  So everybody wins!” Rogers said.

TICKETS:   On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, tickets are $16 general admission, $13 for seniors and groups of ten or more buying at one time, and $10 for students. On Thursdays, general admission is $13, seniors admission $11, and students and unemployed are $5.  There are additional fees charged only for Tickets purchased online through Honolulu Box Office.

Besides going to www.honoluluboxoffice.com, tickets can be purchased with a credit card by calling 536-4441, or by personally visiting the Kumu Kahua Box Office. Box Office hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm.

Kumu Kahua Theatre is an air-conditioned, intimate 100-seat performance space; Patrons are strongly advised to purchase tickets in advance as individual performances do sell out.  Performances are at 8pm Thursday through Saturday, and at 2pm on Sunday afternoons.  Tickets can be purchased with a credit card by calling 536-4441, or by visiting our box office between 11am and 3pm Monday through Friday.  Ticket prices range from $5 to $16.  Tickets go on sale Monday, July 16.  For more information about this and other productions, visit www.KumuKahua.org.

Kumu Kahua productions are being supported by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, celebrating more than thirty years of culture and the arts in Hawai‘i (with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts); the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts, Mufi Hannemann, Mayor; and Foundations, Businesses and Patrons.
