Auditions For Kumu Kahua’s Production Of Eric Yokomori’s Two One-Acts House Lights & Prolonged Sunlight

Director Harry Wong is seeking an ensemble of 15 actors to perform in both plays. In a one-act play (House Lights) and six short plays (under one title, Prolonged Sunlight), playwright Yokomori explores the human condition via dramatic surrealism and theater of the absurd. Intense aberrant behavior is the norm as characters confront one another in strange situations. Yokomori is the writer of the cult theatre tour-de-force, Dare Devil Blues. These plays contain strong language and adult situations. Auditions will be held at Kumu Kahua Theatre 46 Merchant Street on Saturday, September 5, 1pm to 4pm, and Sunday, September 6, 6pm to 9pm. The entrance into the theatre faces a park on Merchant Street. Rehearsals begin as early as Monday, November 9. Performances will be from January 14 through February 14, with the possibility of a week’s extension. Auditioners are strongly encouraged to read the script before coming to audition. Scripts are available for loan with a $10 cash deposit at Kumu Kahua Theatre. Call 536-4222 to get a script and for more information.
