Spend Halloween With The Undead And Help Set A Record In The Guinness Book Of World Records! "Art Of The Living Dead" At Kumu Kahua Theatre!
HONOLULU, HI: Kumu Kahua Theatre presents "Art of the Living Dead", a zombie-inspired mixed-media performance art event for one night only on Halloween, October 31, 2009 at Kumu Kahua Theatre, 46 Merchant Street, in downtown Honolulu. Featuring a short film contest, theatre performances, the largest “zombie walk” Hawaii has ever seen, and special performances by select members of Cherry Blossom Cabaret, On The Spot, and other special guest acts.
Also, on October 25, 2009, watch for the pre-cursor to "Art of the Living Dead" where the debut of the Hawaii chapter of "Thrill the World", synchronized with other chapters worldwide, will all be dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” for a truly global thrill! "Art of the Living Dead" is a fundraiser for Kumu Kahua Theatre.
Proceeds from ticket sales go to help Kumu Kahua Theatre, Hawaii's only theatre dedicated to plays written by, for and starring the people of Hawai'i. Tickets are $20 for this undead event, BUT WAIT! An alcoholic beverage is included in the ticket price! Must be 21 or over to attend "Art of the Living Dead". UNDEAD FILM CONTEST
Be a Part of "Art of the Living Dead" and the undead fun by entering your short zombie film and win blood-curdling prizes! Submit films to the Kumu Kahua Box Office no later than October 23rd, during regular box office hours: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. A $10 entrance fee will be collected upon submission. Film Contest Rules:
1) Films can be entered no later than October 23rd at 3:00 pm.
2) They must be turned in to the Kumu Kahua Box office.
3) A $10 entry fee will be collected upon entry.
4) Entry must include a paper with:
Name of film
Name of Director/film group
Address of director/film group
Phone number of director/film group
5) A contact person must be present at the showing to win (showing will be held October 31st at Kumu Kahua Theatre)
6) Must be submitted in DVD format
7) Must be approximately 5 minutes in length
8) Must own rights to music used or have created own music
9) Kumu Kahua Employees and board members not eligible
10) All films must have a zombie theme

Kumu Kahua Theatre is an air-conditioned, intimate 100-seat performance space; Patrons are strongly advised to purchase tickets in advance as individual performances do sell out. Performances are at 8pm Thursday through Saturday, and at 2pm on Sunday afternoons.
