Auditions Set For Kumu Kahua’s Production Of Sean T.C. O’malley’s Wilcox Shot

Director Brett Botbyl is seeking at least 7 actors--4 men and 3 women.  Robert Kalanihiapo Wilcox, Hawai‘i’s first Congressional delegate, arrives in Washington in 1901, ready to fight for his people in this compelling historical drama.  Auditions will be held at Kumu Kahua Theatre, 46 Merchant Street, on Saturday, January 14, 6pm-9pm, and Sunday, January 15, 6pm-9pm.  The entrance into the theatre faces the park on Merchant Street.  Rehearsals begin as early as Monday, January 30.  Performances will be from March 29 through April 29, with the possibility of a week’s extension.  Auditioners are strongly encouraged to read the script before coming to audition.  Copies of the play are available for loan with a $10 cash deposit at Kumu Kahua Theatre.  Call 536-4222 to get a script and for more information.

Kumu Kahua productions are being supported by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, celebrating more than thirty years of culture and the arts in Hawai‘i (with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts); the Annenberg Foundation; the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts; paid for in part by the taxpayers of the City & County of Honolulu, the Hawai’i State Legislature; Island Insurance; and Foundations, Businesses and Patrons.
