PFP Takes Out the Laundry

Seattle’s most aggressively multicultural sketch comedy group, the Pork Filled Players (PFP), takes aim at their latest target, the American Family, in their latest show, Dirty Laundry: Airing Out the Family Hamper, February 16 to March 4, late night at the Theatre Off Jackson (409 7th Ave. S., Seattle).

PFP aims shrapnel at every aspect of family, from cradle to rest home and all stops in between [Given some families, this might be overkill, but PFP believes in being thorough].

Laundry plays at 10:30 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 6:30 pm Sundays. Tickets are $8 general, $6 for students/seniors, $5 groups. Info and reservations can be made by calling 206/365-0282.

Co-founder/producer/writer Roger Tang ("godfather of Asian American theatre" according to A. Magazine) takes on directing chores this show, leading PFP veterans David Kobayashi, Daren Wade and Wendy Chinn and PFP newcomer, Drew Dalire.

The Pork Filled Players is Seattle's closest approximation to a multicultural/multi-ethnic/multi-you-name-it comedy group. PFP creates original sketch comedy that explores underexamined viewpoints and characters so that EVERYONE gets the joke, celebrating the similarities and differences between groups.

Using madcap (though not necessarily zany) material, the Players aim pointed barbs at sacred cows, the bee’s knees, the cat's meow and other nonporcine material and aspects of modern life, through humor (hopefully funny) and song (hopefully on-key).
