Scientists, programmers and nerds by day…By night, they are the Pork Filled Players! Since 1997, the Pork Filled Players have waged a never-ending battle to unleash their funny bone for audiences of every race, creed and gender across the Northwest. Beneath their guises as mild-mannered engineers, journalists and office workers, the Players have honed their humor like a scalpel (or is it dull meat cleaver?) to whack away at notions of race, class and norms in 21st Century America. Adept at sketch comedy and traditional theatre, the Players are the Northwest’s longest running Asian American theatre, with humor to achieve maximum tongue-in-cheekiness, biting cultural/political satire and hilarious racial disharmony with Amazing Kung-Fu Griptm zaniness.
The Collective was founded in 1999 as a place for students of the University of Washington to learn and perform improvisational theater. At their regular performance space, the Ethnic Cultural Theater, they've performed over 40 shows including short-form games and scenes, long-form styles including Campfire, Thread, Harold, and Lotus, and original formats such as Choose-Your-Own-Adventure, a masks show, the UWWF, and our two original long-forms Sunny Nickels and DnDprov (an improvised Dungeons and Dragons Adventure). They were the first performers in the inaugural Seattle Festival of Improv Theater (SFIT) in 2002, and continue to perform at the annual festivals.
As Seattle’s least oldest and second most unprestigious sketch comedy group, Killer Donut is delighted to be performing their debut show at Spam*O*Rama. Members of Killer Donut have trained at Unexpected Productions in Seattle, Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York, and 24 Hour Fitness Center in Bellevue. Please smile and nod for the duration of their performance. Add Killer Donut on eHarmony.com as a friend!
Jennifer O’Brien is a singer, stage manager and actor with a long list of credits in Seattle, including with SIS Productions and Pork Filled Players. She has just come off from a series of appearances at Jazz Alley.
