THE WORLD PREMIERE OF JULIA CHO’S FAMILY DRAMA DURANGO BEGINS PREVIEWS AT THE PUBLIC THEATER NOVEMBER 7TH
All tickets $10 on Thursdays for Durango
October 19th − The Public Theater’s Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Mara Manus announce that the world premiere of Julia Cho’s Durango, an exquisite new drama about family and the American Dream, directed by Chay Yew, will begin previews on November 7th.
A co-production with The Long Wharf Theater, Durango will have its press opening on November 19th. In an effort to further its mission of accessibility, The Public will offer $10 Thursdays during the run of Durango. All seats for Thursday performances will be $10; tickets will go on sale the day of the performance.
In Durango, single father Boo-Seng decides it’s time for a family road trip to Durango, Colorado. As he and his two teenage sons get closer to their destination, secrets are revealed that intensify the sons’ struggle with growing up in the shadow of their father, who left Korea to pursue the American Dream. From the award-winning playwright who brought you BFE, Durango is new American drama at its best.
