Queens College seeks Theatre Professor

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF THEATRE

The Queens College Department of Drama, Theatre and Dance seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre, starting Fall 2010. Requirements: Ph.D. in hand by 1 June '10; college teaching experience; and evidence of scholarly promise in dramatic literature, theory and criticism. Preferred areas of research and teaching expertise include Performance Studies, African-American, African, Afro-Caribbean or Latino Theatre. Although this is a scholarly appointment, a candidate with demonstrated ability to teach acting/directing is desirable. Teaching duties will include undergraduate courses in dramatic literature and introduction to theatre. The successful candidate is expected to develop courses in his/her area of specialization. He/she is expected to remain actively engaged in research/scholarship, mentor and advise students, and serve on departmental and college-wide committees. Salary: $42,873 - $74,133.
