REACT'S PRODUCTION OF SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! FEATURES THE TALENTS OF MANY ASIAN AMERICANS

ReAct, Seattle's multi-ethnic philanthropic theatre, is very pleased to announce the opening production of its exciting 2002 season of Seattle Premieres. This show features numerous local Asian Americans, both on and off stage.

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE - The delightful musical revue based on the beloved classic cartoon spots which aired on ABC-TV from the early 70's through the mid 80's!
Book by Scott Ferguson, George Keating and Kyle Hall, music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg, Kathy Mandry, George Newall and Tom Yohe. Plays at the Langston Hughes Cultural Arts Center from 3/14-4/7/02. (Gala Opening 3/14 at 7:30pm, Fri-Sat at 7:30pm, Sun at 2:00pm, No show Easter Sunday)

In this amusing and educational musical, which was originally produced by Theatre BAM in Chicago, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! presents us with a new and nostalgic staging of over 20 of the Emmy-Award winning television spots which entertained and educated an entire generation. Covering basic math, grammar, science and American history, catchy musical numbers such as "Conjunction Junction" "I'm Just a Bill" "Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here" and "Interjections" are just a few of the ever-popular tunes included in this lively toe-tapping show that's perfect for all the Gen-Xers who grew up learning "Schoolhouse Rock" and now their children. ReAct's brand new staging of this ever-popular show, with all original new choreography is not to be missed 'cause "Knowledge is Power!"

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! features stars Asian Americans David Ige and Kim Anh Yanda leading a multi-ethnic cast also starring Christopher J. Anderson, Ellen Dessler, Amy Jo Diebold, Joanna Hardie, Gordon Hendrickson, Barry L. Snarr, Eric Starker, Candace Vance, Candice Wickson, and Dom Zook. Directed and produced by Asian American, David Hsieh, and stage managed by Asian American, Andrew Chin. Music Directed by Sara R. Hanson, Choreography by Crystal Dawn Munkers, Costumes by Gillian Paulson and Lighting by Jon Harmon.

The Langtson Hughes Cultural Arts Center is located at 104 17th Ave S in Seattle. Tickets for this musical are $18 for General Admission, $15 for Senior Citizens, Students and Military and $12 for Children and Theatre Artists.
