ReAct leads a local multi-ethnic cast INTO THE WOODS with Sondheim's ever-popular Broadway smash musical!The Repertory Actors Theatre, Seattle's only Multi-ethnic Philanthropic Theatre Company opens its 11th season with a major new and vibrant multi-ethnic staging of INTO THE WOODS, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's multiple award-winning musical masterpiece, whose recent Broadway remount garnered additional Tony Awards, including "Best Musical Revival." A group of familiar fairy tale favorites, including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Ridinghood, Jack (of beanstalk fame) and others head into this magical realm filled with witches and wolves, ghosts and giants, handsome princes and wicked step-sisters. They all tread unfamiliar paths INTO THE WOODS, each searching for their own happily ever afters. INTO THE WOODS will play Thurs-Sat nights at 7:30pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm from April 22-25 and May 6-30, 2004. All performances will be held at The Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, located at 104 Seventeenth Ave S, at the corner of 17th and Yesler in Seattle. Free parking is available throughout the neighborhood or in the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center Parking Lot located to the southeast of the complex. Ticket prices are $18 General Admission; $15 Directed by ReAct's Artistic Director, David Hsieh, with musical direction by the talented Jim Fisher and choreography by New York's Scot Charles Anderson, this ingenious production stars Christopher J. Anderson, Eric Ankrim, Ellen Dessler, Emjoy Gavino, Timothy Glynn, Aya Hashiguchi, Masumi Hayashi-Smith, David Ige, Kristen Hurst, Rebekah Krupke, Melissa Mason, Crystal Dawn Munkers, Sean P. O'Bannon, Maydene Pang, Megan Parker, Sarah Sanberg, Barry L. Snarr, Stegar Thompson, Katie Tupper and Kim Anh Yanda. Established in 1993, ReAct strives to provide affordable quality entertainment using primarily non-traditional and multi-ethnic casting. Its purpose is to give artists of all backgrounds the opportunity to work on mainstream projects they might not normally have access to due to ethnicity, gender, or experience.
