Room To Improv holding auditions

Room To Improv, an Asian American improv troupe serving the LA community and BEYOND, is accepting submissions for new potential cast members. We rehearse (attendance req'd for show participation) every Tuesday night in North Hollywood and perform every first Friday of the month at the Two Roads Theatre in Studio City. We may add a 3rd Friday of the month show in the near future. We also perform at numerous festivals, concerts and educational events, sometimes nationally, throughout the year.

Required Skills - Improvisation

Helpful Skills - Voice Characterizations, Dialects, Celebrity Impersonations, Singing, Musical Instruments, Stage Combat, Hosting, etc.

Character defined and limited only by the talents of the person! We will be casting up to four (4) additional players at this time.

We rehearse every Tuesday night in North Hollywood and perform every first Friday of the month at the Two Roads Theatre in Studio City. We may try to add a 3rd Friday of the month show in the near future.

We’re looking for Asian / Pacific-Islander men and women who have prior Improv experience and are familiar with both short and long form styles.

Our shows rely heavily upon audience suggestions that are based upon popular, historical or social elements of American US culture. A strong familiarity with such subjects is necessary for success in this role.

All submissions must be received no later than September 4, 2009 in order to be considered for audition.

Auditions are expected to be conducted Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in North Hollywood.
