SIS Productions is excited to present the premiere of Sex in Seattle, Episode 14: To Choose Or Not To Choose running June 1 ? 23, 2007 playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and 10:30pm. All performances will be at the Richard Hugo House located at 1634 11th Avenue (11th Avenue, off of Pine Street) on Seattle's Capitol Hill. Sex in Seattle, Episode 14: To Choose Or Not To Choose is written by Kathy Hsieh, with the storylines created by Kathy Hsieh, Lisa Marie Nakamura and Dawn Pearse and directed by Miko Premo. Featuring Jose Abaoag, Daniel Arreola, Leilani Berinobis, Elizabeth Daruthayan, Ulric Dihle, Kathy Hsieh, Gigi Jhong, Travis Myers, Patrick Scott and Christian Ver!
SIS Productions is a production company that strives to create, develop and produce quality works that involve Asian American women, their themes, and Asian American issues. SIS Productions encourages opportunities and support for Asian American women to be involved in all aspects of the production of artistic endeavors.
Sex in Seattle is a dynamic, groundbreaking episodic theatre show that aims to:
- Portray contemporary Asian Americans in a truer light, reflecting our diversity and uniqueness of being both Asians and Americans.
- Believably address and explore the issues of womanhood ~ sexuality, struggles, identity, relationships, perceptions, and more, using humor and drama.

Bios:
Jose Abaoag (Colin Kameoka) lives on Capitol Hill and played Colin in Episodes 11, 12, 13 and was in Cowboy Versus Samurai. His local credits include Martin in References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot at the Empty Space, Paul in A Chorus Line with ReAct, and Ballou in Snow with New City Theatre. Jose has been touring with Book-it Repertory Theatre's educational program in Danger: Books!, Cinderella Stories, and Ereth's Birthday and appeared in Book-It's premiere of Edna Ferber's Giant. Since graduating from Cornish College of the Arts, he has also performed with the Northwest Asian American Theatre, Open
Door Theatre, and the Seattle Public Theatre.
Daniel Arreola (Harold Chinn) was born in Honolulu, HI and lives on Capitol Hill. He played Zane in Episodes 1, 2, 4 ,8 and played Mr. Ko in Episode 12. Daniel's credits include Big Hunk O' Burnin' Love, Dogeaters, West Side Story, Good Deeds, Escurial, Epic of Gilgamesh, The Rise & Rise of Daniel Rocket, and Romeo & Juliet just to name a few. He has performed with local companies such as NW Asian American Theater, ReAct Theatre, Pork Filled Players, Theatre Creatures Stage Co, Screenwriter's Salon, Stepping Stone, and KOMO's NW Afternoon. Other credits include directing, writing, and photography.
Jessamyn Bateman-Iino (Assistant Stage Manager) lives in Eastlake and was the ASM for Episodes 11, 12, 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai. She is a graduate from the University of Washington and designed the lights for Long Day's Journey Into Night at the Northwest Actors Studio.
Leilani Berinobis (Tess Matsudaira) lives on Capitol Hill. Leilani played Tess in Episodes 8, 9, 12, 13. Favorite roles include: touring around western Washington as Lady Thiang in The King & I (Couer d'Alene Summer Theatre), Mother in Baseball Saved Us (5th Avenue's AMT Program); Chesty Prospects in Saucy Jack & the Space Vixens (BS Productions); Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Sister Sophia in Sound of Music, and Wen Yu in Making Tracks (Village Theatre); and Esther in To Gillian on her 37th Birthday (ReAct Theatre).
Lorna Chin (Co-Executive Producer / Co-Producer) was born in Honolulu, HI and resides in West Seattle. She has been a co-producer since Episode 1 in different capacities. Lorna serves on the ReAct board, volunteers at the Make-A-Wish Foundation and raises funds for the animals at Woodland Park Zoo. Lorna graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1997.
Steve Cooper (Lighting Designer) is working with SIS Productions for the fifth time. Previously, he designed lights for Cowboy Versus Samurai and stage managed Sex in Seattle Episodes 6, 7, 8. Steve also directed A Midsummer Night's Dream for Greenstage.
Elizabeth Daruthayan (Chloe Kong) was born in Santa Monica, CA and is working with SIS Productions for the first time. Her most recent film credits are Behind Closed Doors, Take My Date, Please! and Simply FOBulous. Recent theater credits include Big Hunk O' Burnin' Love with Pork Filled Players, Small Change with Seattle Actor's Theater and Love, Sex and the IRS with Redwood Theatre. Elizabeth is currently working at the University of Washington.
Ulric Dihle (Adam Jensen) is working with SIS Productions for the first time. His previous work includes The Joy Luck Club with ReAct and other independent films.
Audrey R. Fan (PR Manager) was born in Honolulu, HI and lives in North Seattle. Audrey appeared as Tess in Episodes 1, 2 (understudy), 4, 5, the encore staged readings of Episode 1 & Episode 2, 6, 7,10 and 11. She has also been an Assistant Producer/PR Manager since Episode 6. Audrey has also performed and choreographed at other theater companies such as: ReAct, NWAAT, Village Theatre, Civic Light Opera, Driftwood Theatre and Bellevue/Renton Civic Theater. Audrey is a graduate of the University of Washington.
Rachel Foote (Stage Manager) was born in Bakersfield, California and lives in Lake City. Rachel stage managed Episodes 11, 12, 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai. She has worked at various other theatres in Seattle, including SketchFest and Pork Filled Players.
Marilyn Gonzalez (Properties Designer) lives in North Seattle. Marilyn was the Stage Manager for Episode 1, Assistant Stage Manager who also played the character Lucy in Episode 2 and Properties Designer for Episodes 10, 11, 12, 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai. She has worked with numerous companies including ReAct and volunteers at Driftwood Players.
Kathy Hsieh (Co-Conceiver / Co-Creator / Playwright / Co-Executive Producer / Co-Producer / Elizabeth Ko) was born in Logan, UT and resides on Beacon Hill. Kathy has been involved with SIS Productions from the beginning as the co-conceiver, co-creator and co-producer. She has also played Elizabeth in all but two Episodes, and wrote Episode 5: Intimate Secrets (which was produced in Vancouver, B.C. in 2005), Episode 8: Doin' It Again (which premiered in Vancouver, B.C. in February), Episode 9: Little White Lies, Episode 10: Action Fantasies! (which she also directed), Episode 11: The Ultimate Dating Challenge, Episode 12: My Ultra Quirky Asian American Wedding and Episode 13: Risking It All For Love. An award-winning actor, director and writer, Kathy works as the Community Liaison for the Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs for the City of Seattle. She has worked with many of the theatres in Seattle including ReAct, Seattle Rep, ACT, Empty Space, Intiman, Book-It, TAG, CLO and many more. In her spare time she helps out at Seattle Shakespeare Company, Freehold and Living Voices. Kathy is a graduate from the University of Washington.
Gigi Jhong (Jenna Sheng) was last seen in Episode 12 as Chloe. Regional theatre credits include George Street Playhouse (NJ), New Jersey Rep, Seattle Rep and Group Theatre. Gigi was in Worm Day, an original Off-Broadway production, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival (Scotland) where Boy Steals Train won several awards and recorded BST for the BBC afternoon radio series. Camera work include short indie films that made the International Asian American Film Festival and Urban Film Festival, commercials with Jessica Simpson on
MTV, promos with TV Land, industrials and print work.
Jane Moon (Co-Producer) lives in Lake City. Jane was assistant producer for Episodes 11, 12 and co-producer for Episode 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai. She has seen every episode of Sex in Seattle. Jane graduated from the University of Washington.
Travis Myers (Nathan Wychovsky) lives on Capitol Hill and played Nathan in Episodes 4, 5, 6, 13 and was in Cowboy Versus Samurai. He was also in Fiddler On The Roof, Romeo and Juliet, Six Degrees of Separation, I'm Not Rapport and Catch 22.
Lisa Marie Nakamura (Co-Creator / Co-Executive Producer) was born in Seattle and lives in West Seattle. She has been a co-producer since Episode 1 and was the fight choreographer in Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 10 and the encore staged readings of Episode 2, as well as Co-Creator since Episode 9. Lisa has acted, fought and choreographed fights all over the Northwest.
Dawn Pearse (Co-Creator) was born in Pueblo, Colorado and lives in West Seattle. Dawn has been a creator since Episode 10: Action Fantasies! and directed Episode 6: Vicious Valentines and Episode 8: Doin' It Again. Other directing credits include: Three Deaths in Denmark (GREX), Good News About Sweatshop Shoes (True History Theater), and Blood Wedding and Man Equals Man (Highline Community College). Dawn is the Associate Artistic Director for GREX, and received her M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
Miko Premo (Director) was born and raised in Seattle and currently resides in West Seattle. Miko directed Episode 12, 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai and played Shari in Episodes 6-12. Miko also coordinated costumes since Episode 7 and is on staff for SIS Productions. Miko is a graduate of New York University and she acts, directs and costume designs. She has worked with various theatres around town including Sight Nine Theatre Company, Exchange Theatre, Theater Schmeater, West Seattle Kids Theatre at ArtsWest, where she directed The Judas Kiss by David Hare and Pork Filled Players.
Patrick Scott (George Weiss Varon) played George in Episode 12. He has written and acted in plays in Seattle and Minneapolis. Recently, Patrick acted in Seattle Public Theatre's production of The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow and wrote two short plays for 14/48 The World's Quickest Theatre Festival, produced by One World Theatre and Three Card Monty at CHAC. He currently is a middle school teacher at Pacific Middle School. Patrick is a 1993 graduate of the U of W where he majored in drama.
Roger Tang (Sound Designer / Literary Manager) was born in Phoenix, AZ and lives in Shoreline. Roger was the Sound Designer for Episodes 10, 11, 12, 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai, the Properties Designer for Episodes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and an Assistant Producer for the encore staged readings of Episode 1 & Episode 2. Roger is also Literary Manager for SIS Productions. Roger began as a designer for David Henry Hwang and Philip Kan Gotanda, and continued as a producer of the Northwest premieres of Gotanda's Dream of Kitamura, Genny Lim's Paper Angels and Hwang's Bondage. He has taught Asian American history at the UW and was instrumental in building the Theatre Off Jackson. Called the "Godfather of Asian American theatre" by A. Magazine, Producer for the Pork Filled Players, sits on the board at Repertory Actors Theatre, edits the Asian American Theatre Revue and administers both the aa-drama and the Seattle Asian Pacific American Artists' Group mailing lists. Roger is an employee at the University of Washington.
Tom Tran (Co-Executive Producer / Assistant Producer) was born in Saigon, Vietnam, grew up in Issaquah, and currently resides in Leschi. Tom has been involved since Episode 5 in various roles including Assistant Stage Manager and Producer. Tom graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Computer Science and is a software developer at Seattle-based Varolii Corporation.
Christian Ver (Kenneth Sheng) lives on Capitol Hill and is working with SIS Productions for the first time. He was most recently seen in Pork Filled Players' Big Hunk O' Burnin' Love.
Lori Veres (Graphic Designer) lives on Capitol Hill and was the graphic designer for Episodes 12, 13 and Cowboy Versus Samurai. Lori is a graphic designer at Woodland Park Zoo and does various freelance projects.
Rick Wong (PR Photographer) was born in Seattle, lives on Beacon Hill and has worked with Sex in Seattle since Episode 2. Rick freelances as a photographer and videographer and teaches at Seattle Central Community College. His photos have been exhibited at the Paris Air Shows, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, the Wing Luke Asian Museum, Seattle Central Community College, the King County Arts Commission, and featured in national magazines such as Sunset and KoreAm. His work was recently selected for inclusion in the national issue of America 24/7.
