"Having our comedy improv shows in Little Tokyo has been a win-win situation for the Little Tokyo community and Cold Tofu. Little Tokyo has been such a great supporter of Cold Tofu, which has enabled to us to provide more shows every year. Not only are our cast members able to perform improv comedy regularly, we have been able to bring in a diverse audience to Little Tokyo, introducing them to a community that has an important history and is a vital part of Southern California," said Artistic Director Helen Ota.

Founded in 1981 by Los Angeles-based artists Irma Escamilla, Denice Kumagai, Judi Momii and Marilyn Tokuda, Cold Tofu provides Asian American actors the opportunity and environment to explore comedy. Cold Tofu is dedicated to promoting diverse images of Asian Pacific Americans through comedy and to developing multiethnic talent through education and performance.
