"Treasure in the House" seeks assistant project directorFrom Dan Kwong: We are looking for an Assistant Project Director to help with the production of "TREASURE IN THE HOUSE" the Asian Pacific American Performance and Visual Art festival presented each fall at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, California. The festival will run from Thurs. Oct. 29 to Sun. Nov. 29, with events held each weekend. I will need assistance in the couple months prior (Sept. & Oct.), most especially with publicity and marketing, as well as coordination with artists. This is an opportunity to work on an exciting and unique event in the premiere alternative performance space in Southern California, with interesting and talented local and national artists from the Asian American community. "TREASURE IN THE HOUSE" was founded in 1991 by performance artist/writer Dan Kwong, and has presented some of the finest Asian American talent in solo & ensemble performance such as Jude Narita, Alec Mapa, Amy Hill, Han Ong, Denise Uyehara, Steve Park, Oguri, Hung Nguyen, Lauren Tom, Nobuko Miyamoto, Club O' Noodles, Shishir Kurup, Gary San Angel & Peeling The Banana, Hae Kyung Lee Dance Company, Brenda Wong Aoki, and many, many more. We generally operate on a shoestring budget, and are still waiting to hear about a pending grant proposal, so unfortunately we cannot state any specific figure for compensation yet. The Assistant Project Director will work in cooperation with Curator/Project Director, Dan Kwong. For more information and inquiries, call: Dan @ (310) 453-4544 or email: dkbb12@aol.com
