The Ivar BrickBox Theatre Presents A World Premiere: Promising Talents Assemble for The Atmosphere Of Henry

Hollywood, California - January 20, 2004 - The Ivar BrickBox Theatre presents the world premiere of The Atmosphere of Henry, written and directed by Actor/Writer West Liang. Performances are on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 P.M., from February 6 through March 6, 2004. Preview is on February 5, 2004. Admission is $12.00 for the general public.

The play explores the mind of a young man named Henry and his relationship with his wife, Joanne, which has been paralyzed by their lack of communication. What does he do to compensate, and where does he find connection? Four lives converge in this quick-paced drama set in a San Francisco high-rise. Liang, a relatively recent 'transplant' from the San Francisco Bay area, has already been involved with three successful productions at the Ivar BrickBox Theatre, but this is the first in which he has put up his own money and material. For his set and lighting design, he has hired Ovation Award-nominated designer Justin Huen, who says:

"The play is so well written, and the setting that West has chosen is critical to the theme of his play, which is what I loved about this project. I loved how everything-the characters, the location, the mood-tied together, and I wanted my design to stay true to that. I wanted to lift everything that caught my eye in his script, and give them a space on the stage."

Huen and Liang are also sharing the stage with actresses Elizabeth Kell and Skye Patch. The play is produced through a collaborative between Delinquent Development and Agro.Culture Productions, which in 2002 revived the play "dAWGS," by Chris Banda, to public and critical acclaim.

The Ivar BnckBox Theatre is located at 1608 North Cosmo Street in Hollywood. For reservations or more information about this production, please call (310) 440-9710 or email AboutHenry@westropolis.com.
