_GAIA AND CUCHIPINOY ANNOUNCE THE THREE MUSES READING SERIES AND ARE NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS

Cuchipinoy Productions, in collaboration with _gaia, is proud to announce the THREE MUSES READING SERIES, a quarterly reading series that showcases the work of women playwrights. The first reading, named after the Muse Calliope, will be in June of this year and will be held at _gaia Studio in Hoboken, NJ.

_gaia and Cuchipinoy Productions are working in collaboration to provide a forum for the voice of women. We support the work of writers, directors, and actors from all ethnic backgrounds in promoting work for and about women. Our goal is to help performing artists raise awareness on issues which color the lives of women. Women should be seen and heard; their voices inspire, support, educate.

We are now accepting submissions to be considered for the series. Submissions received by May 23rd will be considered for the June reading. All other submissions will be considered for future readings.

Guidelines for Submission:

1. The work must examine issues concerning women and/or feature principal women characters.
2. At this time, we are only accepting plays written for the theatre (no screenplays, poetry, short stories, etc). Plays can be full length, one-act, or a collection of related one-acts. Shorter plays may be combined with plays from other playwrights to make up a full evening.
3. Playwright should preferably be from the New York Metro area or be willing to provide for her own travel/lodging expenses to attend the reading and rehearsals.
4. Selected works will be assigned a director and cast from our pool of talented actors. Generally, readings will be given 8-12 hours of rehearsal with the playwright present.
5. All submissions must include the playwright's bio or resume, a cover letter, and a copy of the full script. Submissions may be made by email or through the postal service. Email submissions must be in Microsoft Word or RTF format.
