NWAAT opens 1997-98 season

The Northwest Asian American Theatre opens its season with a shot of star power with a co-production of Exit the Dragon with Eric Michael Zee and Ming-Na Wen (which the Revue coincidentally was associate producer for). At the gala opening, October 3, both Eric and Ming-Na were there, much to the delight of the opening night audience, both to introduce the wildly popular show to Northwest audiences, and to answer questions in a panel discussion.

The Revue was also there (with trusty film and digital cameras) to record events and to flash fry the eyeballs of everyone there (much to the annoyance of Eric, Ming-Na, Kipp and Tuan but not second week cast member Eddie Mui):

Producer Larry Tazuma paces a tad nervously before the show.

Producer Ming-Na Wen leads a discussion with the cast of Dragon after the opening night show.

Writer/director Eric Michael Zee enters the post-show reception with producer Ming-Na Wen. The reception was held at the Wing Luke Museum, the nation's only Asian American museum.

Assistant producer Liane Loui and producer Ming-Na Wen peruse the program for the concurrently running Seattle Asian American Film Festival ("OK, they brought him up and they got her....").

Cast member Tuan Tran jokes around a bit with audience members. Some of the material for Dragon came from bits and parts of Tran's life.

Hey! More pictures are here!
