Alec Mapa, award-winning actor/performer of M. Butterfly and A Language of Their Own, brings his hilarious and touching one-person show to New York City. Winner of the L.A. Weekly Award for Best Solo Performance, I Remember Mapa is the comic journey of a gay Filipino American actor struggling for work, love and acceptance. From the Broadway stage to the California Pizza Kitchen, I Remember Mapa examines the role of Asian American actors and revisits a childhood of being "a dorky kid in glasses and corrective shoes. Running to sold out houses in Los Angeles and San Francisco, I Remember Mapa is featured in the newly released anthology O Solo Homo, edited by Holly Hughes and David Roman. Alec Mapa will touch your heart and make you want to bust out laughing.

Alec Mapa is an award-winning actor, writer, and performance artist. His credits include appearances on Broadway and off-Broadway show, regional theatre, motion pictures, and numerous guest starring roles on television. He lives in New York City and Los Angeles.
