Teada Productions offer internships

Teada Productions is an interdisciplinary/ intergenerational theater project dedicated to serving the Hawai'i Community of Los Angeles. The third annual Kalo Project '99 is a collective performance among members of the Los Angeles Hawaiian community debuting at the Japanese American Community and Cultural Center on June 12th. It is the Kalo Project's mission to further develop the artistic resources of Los Angeles residents who trace their heritage to Hawai'i and through Hawai'i to Asia and the Pacific. Previous Kalo Project performances have been at Highways Performance Space and the Getty Museum.

This year's performance is funded in part by a grant from the Citry of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department and the JACCC.

We are currently offering two exciting internship positions!

Director's Assistant

Hours: 10-15 hours a week. Flexible. Must be available Saturdays. Commitment until July 3 (last workshop/ rehearsal). Must be available week of June 12th, final performance.

Qualifications: Interest in Hawai'ian Pacific Islander Issues and Community. Interest in community theater. Knowledge and experience with theater production. Stage mangaging experience a plus. Experience in prop and costume making and management helpful. Knowledge in multi- media management (slides, projectors).

CREATIVE INTERNSHIPS!!!

Duties: Act as a liason between ensemble and stage manager, attend Saturday rehearsal/ workshops and maintain an active script devo. Keep track of all cues, call cues during rehearsals. Organize getting and making of props and costumes. Act as "glue" to keep cast together. Act as creative counsultant with director during rehearsals.

Perks: Expand knowledge of Hawai'ian Pacific Islander community and issues while simultaneously expanding knowledge of theater production. Work with artists in Pacific Islander Community. Work in a relaxed and supportive creative environment. Create exciting work of community theater.

Production Assistant

Experience and interest in public relations and community outreach. Experience with creating promotional materials. Experience with Filemaker Pro a plus.

Duties: Work with community to promote Kalo Project's final performance on June 12th. Devise creative ways to promote show. Help with program design, pull together copy from all staff and cast members. Help keep track of budget. Act as administrative "glue" working behind the scenes. Act as a liason betwen the office and workshop participants and audience.
