11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Attendance at all workshops is mandatory

Workshops held at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center

This workshop is open to all Asian women, however you identify. Work will focus around story telling, performance art, ritual, and group work. Special emphasis on critical dialogue, leadership and exploring choices for future artistic growth. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN ACTING WORKSHOP.

What to bring: A pen, notebook, open mind, and 30 seconds of something that you are working on (for class work, this is NOT for an audition -- it could be a song, story, monologue, image, movement, etc.).

Denise Uyehara is an award-winning performance artist, writer, and playwright whose work has been presented across the U.S. and internationally. She is a founding member of the Sacred Naked Nature Girls and teaches workshops with various communities including women, men, queer-identified, and seniors.
